
Lane Carr Leads SMC Men's Golf at Spring Golden Tiger Collegiate
Gainesville, Ga. - At the Spring Golden Tiger Collegiate, the SMC men's golf team finished sixth with a total score of 653 (339-314). The Pioneers' final-round score of 314 was the fourth lowest among all teams in the field.
Truett-McConnell "B" won the team title by 20 strokes with a total of 612 (310-302). Matthew Bible of TMC took home the individual title with a score of 150 (78-72).
SMC was led by Lane Carr, who earned All-Tournament Team honors with a 153 (+9, 82-71). His one-under-par performance in Tuesday's final round was the lowest in the field. Carr recorded four of his five birdies for the tournament in the final 18 holes.
Additionally, Bryson Paris tied for 25th with a 165 (+21, 84-81), while Andrew Walker finished in a tie for 28th with a 167 (+23, 87-80). Paris notched a pair of birdies in his final round on Tuesday, while Walker closed his round with a birdie on No. 18.
Tucker Simon finished one stroke behind Walker, placing 31st with a 168 (+24, 86-82), and Parker Harrigan tied for 33rd with a 170 (+26, 87-83). Both Simon and Harrigan recorded a birdie during their 36-hole performances.
The Pioneers' next tournament is the Falcon Shootout, hosted by Pfeiffer University at Colonial Country Club in Thomasville, North Carolina.
