
Bolin Leads SMC on Day One of 2025 CAC Men's Golf Championships
Smithville, Mo. – The Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf team is in third place after Monday's opening round of the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference Championships. The Pioneers posted a team score of 650 (328-322) through the first 36 holes.
No. 47 Victoria (British Columbia) is the first-day leader by 18 strokes with a 622 (315-307), ahead of Talladega. Daniel Kirby of Victoria (BC) is the individual leader by three strokes over teammate Chase Basanta after posting a 153 (76-77).
The Pioneers are led by A.J. Bolin, who is tied for fifth after posting a 157 (79-78). He is joined in the top 10 by Lane Carr, who is in 10th place after shooting a 160 (82-78). Bolin recorded a birdie on No. 4 during his second 18 holes and shot a 37 on the front nine on his way to a 78. Carr had three birdies across his 36 holes, with two coming in his final 18.
Also for SMC, Andrew Walker is in 16th place with a 164 (80-84) after starting the day with a pair of birdies in his opening round. Bryson Paris is in 21st place with a 171 (89-82). Paris had four birdies on the front nine during his second 18 holes and leads the team with five birdies through 36 holes.
Rounding out the SMC lineup is Parker Harrigan, who started his day with a birdie and is in 22nd place after the opening round.
Harrigan will tee off at 11:40 a.m. to begin the final round for SMC on Tuesday.
