
SMC Men’s Golf Takes Third at CAC Championships; Bolin Earns All-Tournament Honors
SMITHFIELD, Mo. – The Spartanburg Methodist College men's golf team climbed the leaderboard in Tuesday's final round to secure a third-place finish at the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Golf Championships. The Pioneers posted a 311 in the final round — matching their fifth-best team round of the season — to close out the 54-hole, two-day event with a total score of 961 (328-322-311).
No. 47 Victoria (B.C.) captured the team title with a commanding 926 (315-307-307), winning by 24 strokes.
SMC was led by A.J. Bolin, who fired a team-best 74 in the final round to move up two spots and finish third overall. His 54-hole total of 232 (79-78-74) earned him a spot on the all-tournament team. Bolin finished just one stroke shy of second place and four shots behind individual champion Daniel Kirby of Victoria (B.C.).
Teammate Lane Carr also made a significant move, climbing three spots on Tuesday with a final-round 76. Carr finished seventh overall with a 54-hole total of 236 (82-78-76).
Andrew Walker added another solid performance for the Pioneers, improving three places thanks to a final-round 79. He placed 13th with a total score of 243 (80-84-79).
Parker Harrigan and Bryson Paris rounded out the SMC lineup. Harrigan shot an 82 in the final round to move up three spots and finish 19th at 256 (87-87-82). Paris climbed one spot with an 87, finishing 20th at 258 (89-82-87).
In addition to Bolin's all-tournament honors, Walker was named SMC's recipient of the CAC Champion of Character Award for exemplifying the conference's values on and off the course.
