Pioneers controls Region X

Southern Pines, NC- The Pioneers Women's golf team displayed an excellent performance at the Region X tournament at Southern Pines Golf Club.  The Pioneers was led by Greenville, SC native Megan Thompson firing an 80-85 = 165.  With her brilliant play, Thompson also captures the individual title for Region X.  "Megan has been displaying a lot of great golf the past 2 weeks.  Her work ethic has been improving day in to day out and it's starting to show.  This golf course was a good test of golf considering it is considered one of Donald Ross best designed golf course and our ladies were up to the test," says Head Coach Arran Setro.  Following Thompson was sophomore Shannon Heerey 81-85= 166, sophomore Brooke Hutto 89-85=174, and freshman Paige Johnson 83-93=176.  "We look forward to representing the school at Nationals in May," concluded Setro.
