Pioneers capture the Sandhills Spring Invitational. Heerey captures Individual title.
The Spartanburg Methodist College Women's golf team started the spring season with a victory at the Sandhills Spring Invitational. Sophomore Shannon Heerey, who captured the individual crown, led the Pioneers. Heerey started off the 2nd round tied for the lead after shooting an 86. Heerey closes strong by firing a 77 to capture the victory. Helping the team capture the team title, Sophomore Brooke Hutto fires 86-89 and Megan Thompson 96-89. Rounding out the team, Freshman Paige Johnson fires 96-96.
