Heerey commits to Western Carolina

Shannon Heerey will continue her education and golf career as a Catamount at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC

"Shannon since she first set foot on campus, showed that she strives for perfection.  She continuously asks me questions about the golf swing, the short game, the game of golf in general to improve her game.  This is extremely rare for women's golf, but to me it shows how much she cares about continuing to improve her golf game.  Her scoring average this spring was an 83 and I believe she can continue getting better with her golf game considering she hits a ton of fairways, she hits about 83% of her fairways on average according the stats that I keep for the players at practice.  It has been an honor to be her coach this year and I look forward to seeing all her success at Western Carolina."
