Lady Pioneers shut out Wake Tech 4-0

SPARTANBURG, SC., The Lady Pioneers Soccer team won for the second time this week on Saturday afternoon in a constant rain against Wake Tech Community College at the Upward Sports Field in Spartanburg, SC.  All four Pioneer goals were scored in the first 28 minutes of the game.  Sara Dorsett (Travelers Rest, SC) led the way scoring two goals, one at the 13 minute mark and the other at the 28th minute.  Lexi Garcia (Greenville, SC) started the scoring by bending a corner kick into goal three minutes into the game.  The fourth goal was scored by Cierra Smith (Columbia, SC) making a run out of the back at the 23rd minute.  Sara Richardson (Greer, SC) and Cyarah Wilson (Summerville, SC) both had assists.  Lara Jackson had the shutout in goal.

SMC improves to 4-5 overall and 4-2 in Region X play and will look to make it three wins in a row as they host USC Salkehatchie on Wednesday afternoon.
