Women's Soccer win fourth in a row- improve to 6-5

AXTON, VA., The Lady Pioneers soccer team hit the road on Tuesday afternoon as they traveled  to Axton, Virginia to take on Region X member, Patrick Henry Community College. SMC won their fourth straight game by shutting out the Patriots 1-0. This was the Lady Pioneers third straight win by shutout.

The back line of Khalila Hargrave (Anderson, SC). Jennifer Aceves (Greenville,SC), Bailey Wilson (Columbia, SC) and Cierra Smith (Columbia, SC) played well together to limit the Patriot's chances on goal. Cierra Casey (Spartanburg, SC) came off the bench and also played well in the back. Christina Early (Woodruff, SC) was solid as a defensive midfielder.  Lara Jackson (Laurens, SC) earned the shutout in goal.

The lone goal was scored by sophomore Sarah Dorsett (Travelers Rest, SC) with seven minutes left in the game. Hope Smith (Woodruff, SC) had the assist.

The Lady Pioneers are now 6-5 overall and 6-2 in Region X play. The Pioneers return to action this Saturday as they host Cape Fear Community College at 4:00pm
