Tifton, Georgia – Abraham Baldwin took two games from Spartanburg Methodist College on Saturday afternoon.
ABAC erased a 2-1 deficit with a seven run sixth inning on its way to an 8-2 win in game one. In the loss, the Pioneers plated an unearned run in the first for an early lead. The Stallions tied it in the fourth before SMC regained the lead in the fourth on a solo home run by Parker Winfield. The sixth saw the Stallions plate seven runs on five hits on its way to the win.
The top three in the order for SMC accounted for four of the five hits with two from Brady Jeffcoat. The Stallions pounded out seven hits with seven-different players recording a hit. Brayden Fordham recorded three RBI in the win for ABAC.
The nightcap saw the Stallions score 13 runs on 11 hits to complete the doubleheader sweep. Four-different players for ABAC had multiple hits with Cristofer Walley driving in five for the winners.
Chance Greene and Jarian Pinckney each had two hits for the SMC attack, plus Tyler Strickland drove in a pair to lead the SMC offense.
SMC falls to 1-6 on the season. The Pioneers are back at home on Monday night to host CIU with a 6 p.m. first pitch.
