Lady Pioneers open 2013 season with a 4-1 win

Lady Pioneers open 2013 season with a 4-1 win

Spartanburg Methodist College Women's Soccer team open with a win over NJCAA Region X rival Wake Tech CC.  The final score was 4-1.  Sophomore Caroline Keener From North Myrtle Beach open the scoring at the 7:40 mark with an assist from Alex Tutterow also a sophomore from Boiling Springs, SC.   Freshman Kacee Merritt from Columbia, SC scored at the 21st minute on a cross from Sophomore Bonnie Walls who is from Piedmont, SC.  Freshman Marcella Damas from Brazil scored at the 24th minute on an assist from sophomore Teta Alexander who is from Savannah, GA.  Freshman Jessica McKinney from Boiling Springs finished the scoring for SMC on an assist from Alex Tutterow, her second assist for the game. Jessica's goal came 3 seconds after Wake Tech CC had cut the lead to 3-1.  The Lady Pioneers controlled the game out shooting Wake Tech CC  16 to 1.  The Lady Pioneers next play on the road August 31st against Patrick Henry CC in Martinsville, VA.
