
Isabella Marz Leads SMC Women's Golf at Spring Golden Tiger Collegiate
Gainesville, Ga. – At the Spring Golden Tiger Collegiate, the Spartanburg Methodist College women's golf team finished third with a total score of 734 (379-355).
Truett-McConnell "B" won the team title by 43 strokes with a total of 679 (350-329). Morela Boyd of host Brenau claimed the individual title with a two-stroke victory, finishing with a 165 (+21, 82-83).
SMC was led by Isabella Marz, who finished eighth after improving by six strokes in Tuesday's final round, posting a 176 (+32, 91-85).
Teammates Gracelyn Toler and Adeline Todd narrowly missed the top 10, finishing in 12th and 13th place, respectively. Toler recorded a 183 (+39, 90-93), while Todd finished just one stroke behind at 184 (+40, 94-90).
The fourth golfer for SMC, Melanie Meredith, made a remarkable 17-stroke improvement in Tuesday's final round, finishing with a 36-hole total of 191 (+47, 104-87).
The Pioneers' next tournament is the Trailblazer Spring Invitational, hosted by North Greenville University at Cherokee Valley Course and Club in nearby Travelers Rest.
