
SMC Women's Golf Begins Play at Trailblazer Spring Invitational
Spartanburg Methodist College freshman Gracelyn Toler shot an opening-round 91 to lead the Pioneers women's golf team in the first round of the Trailblazer Spring Invitational on Monday. Toler carded birdies on holes No. 12 and 16 in her first 18 holes to finish the day tied for 34th place.
Teammate Isabella Marz also shot a 91 (+22) and is tied for 40th, while Adeline Todd posted a 96 (+24) to sit in 44th place. The fourth golfer for SMC, Melanie Meredith, is tied for 48th after carding a 100 (+28).
As a team, SMC sits in ninth place after posting a 381 (+93).
Brooklyn Verdugo of Union (TN) holds a one-stroke lead at +5 in the individual standings. Union leads the team competition with a score of 319 (+31), giving them a two-stroke lead over the field.
