
Men's Track and Field Duo Earn CAC Athlete of the Week Honors
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Spartanburg Methodist College men's track and field student-athletes Romeo Brown, a sophomore from Newberry, and Javion Brannon, a freshman from Union, were named the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Monday for the second time this season after their performances at the Montreat Open.
On the track, Brown won the 100-meter dash (10.85 seconds) and placed second in the 200-meter dash (21.66). The Newberry, South Carolina, native also ran the third leg of the 4x100-meter relay team, which posted the fastest time in the CAC this outdoor season. This marks Brown’s third Men's Track Athlete of the Week honor.
In the field events, Brannon achieved a personal-best performance, placing ninth in the long jump (5.9 meters) at the Montreat Open. The Union, South Carolina, native holds the best mark in the event this season among CAC field athletes.
