
Multiple PRs Set for SMC Track and Field at John-Hunter James Classic
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Spartanburg Methodist College men's track and field team set multiple PRs at the John Hunter-Smith Invite, hosted by Columbia International University.
The reigning CAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week, Romeo Brown, claimed victory in the 100m dash with a time of 10.63 seconds and secured second place in the 200m with a time of 22.22 seconds. Brown's performance in the 200m marks the second-fastest time in program history.
Teammates Javion Brannon and Parker Balog recorded top-10 finishes in the 200m, clocking times of 23.42 and 23.49 seconds, respectively. Brannon's performance ranks ninth in program history, while Balog's ranks tenth.
Additionally, Brannon set a PR in the 100m with a time of 11.29 seconds, while Balog set a PR in the 400m with a time of 53.81 seconds, earning the eighth-fastest spot in program history.
Four Pioneers—Caleb Williams (4:29.23), Luke Kochanowicz (4:29.66), Ryan Hunter (4:29.97), and Dylan Seppala (4:38.73)—each set PRs in the 1500m run.
