Brown Nearly Qualifies for Finals in the 100m Dash at NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Marion, Indiana – Spartanburg Methodist College sophomore Romeo Brown posted a time of 10.54 seconds in the preliminaries of the 100m dash at the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday.

The top two finishers in each of the four heats advanced to Friday's finals. It came down to the final qualifying heat, where the speedy sophomore from Newberry narrowly missed a spot. His effort earned him a 12th-place overall finish.

"Romeo has worked incredibly hard all season, and to see him competing at this level is a testament to his commitment and growth," said SMC Head Coach Peyton Shelton. "We're proud of the way he represented our program and excited about what the future holds for him and the rest of the team."

Brown's performance marks the final competition of Spartanburg Methodist College's inaugural season in NAIA athletics.
