Lady Pioneers Shutout Motlow State, 4-0

The Women's soccer team traveled to Atlanta Silverbacks Park on 10.3 to take on Motlow State. Motlow State came out of the gates strong and was able to get on the scoreboard ten minutes into the game. The Pioneers had to make a goalkeeper change with Abby Fisher after Gwen Orr went down with an injury. SMC would get a few chances later in the first half but the Motlow defense was standing strong. The first half ended at 1-0. SMC would regroup and come out with a little more attacking pressure. Again, Motlow State would shut down the Pioneers attack. The Bucks would score on a penalty kick in the 50th minute after an unlucky handball in the Pioneer penalty box. Motlow was just a little bit too much for the Pioneers on this day. The Bucks would get 2 more goals in the second half to make the final score 4-0. Abby Fisher would finish the day with 15 saves. The Pioneers will regroup and look to bounce back when they return home on 10.12 for a Region 10 match with USC Salkehatchie at 2:00PM. SMC moves to 8-2 on the season.
