Lady Pioneers Win 3-0 Against the RBC Statesmen

Lady Pioneers Win 3-0 Against the RBC Statesmen

The Lady Pioneers hosted Richard Bland College Statesmen for another Region 10 showdown. SMC got a hot start when Laura Giraldo found Beyonce Williams with a pass from the midfield to make it 1-0, three minutes into the game. Two minutes later, Sydney Flether and Harleigh Payne made a couple of great passes together to then find Alanna Hilton in the middle of the box to make the score 2-0. The Pioneers would have a few more chances in the middle of the first half by Fletcher and Hilton but the RBC goalkeeper would stay strong in goal. Kaylee Damsen would come in as a sub in the first and put a lot of pressure on the Statesmen's back line. Kaylee would intercept an RBC pass and dribble around the keeper for the third goal of the half. The backline for the Pioneers stayed strong and kept very few balls from getting to Gwen Orr in goal. Orr finished the half with one save. The score was 3-0 at halftime. The second half saw a few chances for the Pioneers but the score would stay 3-0 till the final whistle. Abby Fisher relieved Gwen Orr in goal for the last 15 minutes.

SMC moves to 4-0-0, 3-0-0 in Region 10 play.

The Lady Pioneers play at home against USC Salkehatchie on 9.10.22 at 5:00 pm.
