Lady Pioneers Come Back with a Win from Oxford, GA

Lady Pioneers Come Back with a Win from Oxford, GA

The Lady Pioneers traveled to Oxford, Ga to take on the Eagles of Oxford Emory College on 9.15.  The fall weather gave for a perfect atmosphere for a soccer game. Kaylee Damsen got on the scoreboard first in the 16th minute after a great combination pass from Addison Crump and Beyonce Williams. SMC continued with many shots throughout the first half. Williams doubled the score 22 minutes into the game, with assists going to Harleigh Payne and Jordan Golden. Abby Fisher started in goal and recorded 3 saves in the first half. The Pioneers were able to stretch the lead when Damsen would get her second goal of the game after a pass from Alanna Hilton. Tiffani Rasmussen would cap off the scoring at four with a beautiful goal from a 25-yard shot over the goalie's head. Oxford Emory got a goal late in the game to make the final score 4-1. Fisher would finish with 6 saves in goal for the night.

The Pioneers move to 5-1-0 on the season.

They travel to USC Salkehatchie on 9.16 for a region 10 matchup at 5:00 pm.
