29 Pioneers Named 2024 NAIA Fall Sport Daktronics Scholar-Athletes
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2024 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for fall sports on Monday. 29 Spartanburg Methodist College student-athletes were recognized in each of the fall sports who have excelled academically including football, men's cross country, men's soccer, women's cross country, women's soccer and women's volleyball.
To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. This year, the list features an impressive number of student-athletes who have met these rigorous standards.
Among those honored from SMC were four members of the men's cross country team (Luke Kochanowicz, Seth Mullen, Steven Strange and Nolan Vrooman), four members of the women's cross country team (Anna Altman, Victoria Freeman, Sophia Outhous and Bella Shields), six members of the volleyball team (Aurora Aho, Bailey Beck, Kendall Meinders, Brantlie Price, Alyssa Sellers and Hana Vucinic), seven members of the women's soccer team (Abby Fisher, Laura Giraldo, Alani Hall, C.J. Hawkins, Caitlin Lagos, Camila Moscoso and Grace White) and eight members of the men's soccer team (Joshua Bravo, Layton Cave, Clayton Dufur, Colin Fleener, Antoine Garcia, Moises Mancebo Roque, Jean Segura and Will Waters).
