WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – The Spartanburg Methodist College played its third match in four days when they faced No. 18 Keiser University on Monday. The host Seahawks recorded a 3-0 win over the visiting Pioneers.
The loss drops SMC to 3-6-1 overall and 0-2 in the Continental Athletic Conference, whereas Keiser improves to 4-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the CAC.
An own goal where a ball was misplayed by the SMC defense put the host Skyhawks up 1-0 in the 13th minute. Keiser added to its lead when Justin Bangura and Alessio Silva scored in the 53rd and 61st minute, respectively.
Brandon Porras had two of the six shots for the Pioneers and goalkeeper Francesco Molinar played most of the contest, recording nine saves in 84:38 of action.
The Pioneers will be idle for the next 12 days before they return to the pitch to host Carolina University on Saturday, October 5 at 3 p.m.
