Mia Hansen Named CAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Spartanburg Methodist College women’s basketball freshman Mia Hansen (Fletcher, N.C./Hendersonville HS) was named the Continental Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.     

Hansen, who hails from Fletcher, N.C., averaged 17 points and six rebounds across two games for the Pioneers. She shot 46.2% from the floor and 35.7% from behind the 3-point field goal arc in a pair of contests. She scored a season-high 21 points, behind four 3-pointers, in an 86-62 loss at Johnson University (Tennessee) on December 30. She then chipped in 13 points in a 66-56 loss to Tennessee Wesleyan University on the next day.     

Next, Hansen and SMC will host Carolina University on Tuesday, January 7 at 5 p.m. at Bridges Arena in a non-conference matchup.
