SPARTANBURG, S.C. - JaiDah Liebert led three members of the Spartanburg Methodist College in double figures as the Pioneers dropped the home finale to Life University, 78-59, on Saturday afternoon.
Liebert scored a team-best 17 points for the Pioneers, Krystal Johnson and Najah Gilliam added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
The Running Eagles shot 48.8% from the field with three players in double figures as they led for 38 of the 40 minutes in the contest. Aniyah Offutt led Life with a game-high 23 points. Plus, Dianis Hurtado added 11 and Sara Viti came off the bench to hit five 3-pointers for 15 points.
SMC will continue its season at the upcoming CAC Tournament as the No. 5 seed when they will face Carolina University on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. in Lawrence, Kansas. Each team won on its home court in the other two meetings.
