Lady Pioneers take control of Region X

SPARTANBURG, SC - The Lady Pioneers took over first place in Region X after winning 3-0 at home against Cape Fear CC on Saturday afternoon.  

Sophomore, Kacee Merritt (Cayce, SC) scored on a volley from 20 yards out at the nine minute mark.  Sarah Dorsett (Travelers Rest, SC) had the assist.  Merritt then assisted on the next goal by Kayla McMillian (Spartanburg, SC) at the 39 minute mark.  The Pioneers lead 2- 0 at halftime.

With six minutes left in the match Khalila Hargrave  (Anderson, SC) put the game away with a goal assisted by Ciera Smith (Columbia, SC).  The defense including Tori Brown (Boiling Springs, SC), Karsyn Shehan (Boiling Springs, SC), Courtney Tutterow (Boiling Springs, SC), Madison Salters (Columbia, SC), Jennifer Aceves (Greenville, SC), Hope Smith ( Woodruff, SC) and Ciera smith  all played well.  Elizabeth Brooks played well in goal as the Lady Pioneers record improved to 12-1 overall and 9-1 in the Region.
