SMC scored twice in the first and added another run in the third for an early 3-1 lead over the host Sand Sharks. USCB took its first lead of the day by scoring four runs in the bottom of the third and added three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the win.
Four different Sand Sharks—Tamiyah Whitlock, Chloe Turner, Emma Reynolds, and Allie McCleer—each had two hits in the victory. Seven different players recorded an RBI in the win.
Gracie Starnes and Alex Stuckey each had two hits as the Pioneers lost the nightcap by a 9-1 margin to the host Sand Sharks.
Carson McCowan reached on an error to begin the nightcap. She moved to second on a wild pitch, then Gracie Starnes recorded an infield single to put runners on first and second. Stuckey reached on an infield single to load the bases. Then, with one out and the bases loaded, a Maddie Handy fielder's choice plated McCowan for the early lead. A groundout prevented the Pioneers from adding to their lead.
USC Beaufort came back with six runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by a three-RBI triple from Chloe Turner and a two-RBI double from Sydney Kibler. The Sand Sharks extended their lead with three more runs in the bottom of the second on their way to a 9-1 win.
