SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mia Marks of scored a goal in each half to lead visiting Bob Jones tgo a 4-0 win over Spartanburg Methodist College women's soccer on Saturday.
The Pioneers (10-5-1) recorded five shots in the loss as Andrea Tapia paced the attack with a pair of shots. Her shot in the 55th minute hit the crossbar which nearly spoiled the shutout bid.
The Bruins (14-4-1) scored twice in each half and outshot the Pioneers by a 12-5 margin. Goalkeepers Kali Jackson and Margaret Cummings combined for the shutout in the win.
The season will continue for SMC at the CAC Tournament with a first-round matchup on Saturday, November 9 at 11 a.m. against Talladega.
