CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Spartanburg Methodist College men's basketball team picked up its second-straight win with an 82-77 win over host Campbellsville (KY) on Friday night. After five games to start the season decided by four points or less, the Pioneers have won its last two games by 13 and 5 points, respectively.
SMC (3-5) was led by a 30-point game by junior Kenny Burns, who hit six 3-pointers in the win. He has been in double figures in all eight games on the season. Plus, he scored 18 of his 30 in the first half as the Pioneers built a 41-39 lead. He was joined in double figures by Richard Rojas, who added 10.
Campbellsville (5-3) was led by a 32-point game by Marcellus Vail in the contest. Dalton Kramer added 16 in the loss.
The Pioneers will wrap up the weekend with a 1 p.m. neutral-site matchup against Cumberlands on Saturday.
