Kevin Cotrell Named Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach at Spartanburg Methodist College
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Spartanburg Methodist College athletic director Megan Aiello announced today the hiring of Kevin Cotrell as the head men’s and women’s golf coach.
Cotrell comes to SMC after gaining valuable experience as a Golf Tournament Director and Golf Caddy/Instructor to go along with serving as a coach with the football and lacrosse teams at Spartanburg High School.
“I am very excited to have Kevin join our staff,” said Aiello. “He has a passion for golf and coaching that will be a great addition to the staff. Throughout his career, he has gained immense knowledge and experience that will help continue the trajectory of our golf programs as we transition into the NAIA.”

He has for the last 17 years been a FAA Air Traffic Controller/Training Specialist, where he has had to manage complex situations under pressure, demonstrate decision-making abilities for the safe management of aircraft.
Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Cotrell served in the US Navy as a Petty Officer where he was involved with sport-related activities, both as a player and coordinator of events.
