59 SMC Student-Athletes Earn NJCAA All-Academic Team Recognition

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A school record 59 student-athletes from Spartanburg Methodist College were selected to the NJCAA All-Academic Team with one from men’s basketball, four from men’s cross country, two from women’s cross country, one from men’s golf, three from women’s golf, four from men’s half marathon, two from women’s half marathon, seven each from men’s soccer and softball, eight from women’s soccer, nine from volleyball (beach), 11 from volleyball (court) and 17 from baseball. Of the honorees, 17 were selected first team, 27 were chosen second team and 15 were named third team. 

To be selected to the first team, the student-athlete had to earn a 4.0 GPA; for second team honors – between a 3.8 and 3.99 GPA and for third team recognition – between a 3.60 and 3.79 GPA.
