100 Pioneers named to Region 10 All-Academic Team
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Spartanburg Methodist College landed 100 student-athletes on the Region 10 All-Academic Team. The 100 student-athletes by SMC are the most among any other participating institution in Region 10.
In a breakdown of the recipients by sports among the 965 student-athletes selected, there were 523 from baseball, 170 from softball, 92 each from men’s and women’s basketball and 46 from beach volleyball.
For Spartanburg Methodist, there were four from women’s golf; six from men’s track & field; seven from men’s basketball; eight from men’s golf and women’s basketball; 10 from beach volleyball and women’s track & field; 12 from softball; 35 from baseball.
To be named All-Academic student-athletes must participate in a sport, which competes during the spring semester (baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, golf, softball, tennis and track and field) and achieve a 3.0 grade point average while passing 12 credit hours.
